Hi, my name is Kimberly. I live in Salinas, CA. I have over 20 years of caregiving/CNA experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I started working with the homeless. I was giving back to the community and I really enjoyed making a difference in people's lives and helping them for a better future and I continued to enjoy my job each and every day.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to listen to detail from your clients, listen carefully, pay attention to all details. Always know that your each and every client is an individual, be able to modify tasks as needed for different diagnoses of different clients. Always let your client know what tasks you're going to perform. Make sure that you're very clear in your explanation.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a client that I had 2 years back. He was a gentleman that worked in electronics. He had bought the first TV for his county. Very, very interesting gentleman indeed.
