Hi, my name is Kwame. I have 13 years experience and I live in Gaithersburg, MD.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because of the experience I had when my relatives get old and living in a nursing home.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, to have patience and be able to state clearly to their clients. Help the patients to deal with all the inconvenience that might come with a new person and a new place.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is John. He was 80 years old. I spent 5 years with him. He had a stroke and I was able to deal with him. He also had patience and allowed me to continue caring for him. He was a good man. He'd always give me advice on how to treat my children and on the interesting places I can take my children to. He was so lovely and gave me good advice.
