Hi, my name is Larissa. I live in the city of Los Angeles,CA and I have been a caregiver for seven years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver to help take care of my aunt who has brain tumors and she has problems with doing her daily activities so I came to do it so that I could be able to help people.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to treat your residents and your patient as if they were one of your loved ones, take the time to associate with them, do activities and just give them the best care that you can.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget would be my first client, the first job I ever had. She used to love going to the casinos and playing scratchers. She liked doing lottery things, Empire scratchers, just something to interact with her. All her stories from when she grew up, her family stories and the stuff she would teach me about life and history, the things that back in the old golden days. I'm still young so I learned a lot about history.
