Hi, my name is Laura. I live in the city of Redlands, CA and I have about two years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because of my grandma, she needed a lot of help, with medicine preparations, bathing, using the bathroom, eating, and stuff like that. I went to school in medical assisting. I am going to pursue to become a registered nurse. I like to see people happy. I like to help them out, especially the family members, and stuff like that. I like to learn new things and do what I can do.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to be patient with their patient. And help them out in the best way that you can. And treat them like one of your loved ones.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is my grandma. She was always happy, every day she would always put a smile, she would always thank me with all the help that I've given her, and everything that I did for her. She would never let anybody see that she would struggle, that she couldn't do it on her own and stuff. She is one of the people that I will never forget.
