Hi, my name is Laura. I live in San Marcos, CA and I have two years of experience as a caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I wanted to become a nurse and I absolutely love the field, and I love what I do.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, make sure that it's what you want to do, and care for each patient just as it would be your mom, or your own parents, or any family member. And just take care of them as much as you can. Provide quality care for each individual.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is an older lady that I had in the skilled nursing facility. She was such a loving patient. She was really sweet and every morning she would say "Good morning, Laura. Good morning, how are you." She would just talk about how grateful she is for us helping her and how she loves having us as her CNAs at the nursing facility. She was really happy with our care because she says that not all the nurses are the same. And she was so sweet and so funny and up to this day, I will never forget her.
