Hi, my name is Lesieli. I live in San Jose, CA. I've been a caregiver for 10 years plus.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I was taking care of my mom and dad. Also, at the same time, a CNA. My mom has cancer and she needed care while she was in the hospital and at home as well. My dad too since he is diabetic. Since then, I've been in love and passionate about doing the caregiver job and also taking care of client, patient in the facility, nursing facility and also in the hospital.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver to folllow the rules, the policy at the company, be passionate and be honest in doing 100% best at their job in what they're doing.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Seymour. It was heartwarming experience for me because I was told the first day that we started he only had two weeks to live, but I end up helping him to be back on his feet and walking with the walker, helping with his daily routine, feeding him. I was told he was unable to eat anymore but eventually he was able to feed himself, walk with assist, daily exercise, and walk with the walker, going out, take him out for his appointment, and going around the store. He was living all the way-- I started 2013 and he lasted until October 2015.
