Hi, my name is Lisa Grace. I live in Downey, CA. I have 10 years of caregiving experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I've been a caregiver because I'm a registered nurse in Philippines and I love to serve people especially the sick people and I love the work here, to take care of the elderly, to help their daily living.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for the caregiver would be, be very patient, be honest, consistent, understanding and very flexible with loving, tender care.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I won't forget, her name is Inez and I called her Grandma and the family called me an angel. I worked with them for more than three years and I give her 24-hour care, and the family loves me so much. They provided all I need and when we visited the doctor and the doctor told them that, "You are lucky because your mom, the care is very good, excellent because your mom doesn't have any sores," and so I won't forget her. She's very nice person and I give her 101% care. I fed her through feed tube fitting. So until now, I can still visit them any time, the family. She died already because her kidney doesn't work anymore, so she died at the age of 86. But that was I think four years ago.
