Hi. My name is Liz. I live in Hayward, CA and I have 5 years of experience as a caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a registered nurse in my country because I am very passionate about helping further. I am a really compassionate person.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver will be-- for example it's a senior patient-- is giving them emotional support all the time is vital to them. What kind of experience they have in their lives is empower them to be independent and make them feel important or be loved, have admiration for them.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget it was Esther. Esther, she was in the hospital for about three months. And she and her husband had a car accident. Her husband was in intensive care unit. At that time I was in Spain working in the hospital. And Esther was for honeymoon in Spain. They were from another country. They didn't have family there. And she was in intensive pain. They were a really young couple. They were in love, and till now I remember her and her husband.
