Hi. My name is Losapina, I live in Vallejo, CA. I have 18 years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver as I grew up. My mother was caring for her mother-in-law. So I helped my mom a lot because my grandma was blind, so everytime when I come back from school, I help my mom. And I sleep with my grandma in one room so I can help her at night time to take her to the bathroom. That's what makes me want to become a caregiver because I totally miss my grandma and I want to help elderly people.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is to be honest, trustworthy, loyalty, and be on time, and to love, and to work hard, and always have a plan for the next day. And that's my advice for the new caregiver.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Barbara, she's really really nice. She passed away in 2011, she have a big heart, she's warm, loving, caring, and she loves me and my family. She totally cared for me and my kids and my husband. She trusts me. I miss her. I will never forget her in my life.
