Hi, my name is Luis. I live in Dixon, CA and I have two years experience as a caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I started to be a caregiver for a neighbor. She lost his husband and I was his friend and we say we will work together like two months just for the meantime until I find another job but I worked one year and a half for her and we have a really great time. I cook a little food for her, clean the house, work around the house and driving her around with doctor appointments. We just became friends. We play cards, we play dominoes, we watch tv and we have a really great time. She is 90 year old. Her son and I, decided to put her in special home care now. That's the reason I don't work anymore for her anymore but I have a really great time work for her.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a caregiver is to have passion and be loved. To have love and have really care about people.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client I never forget would be Mary Hollis- She is a nice person, she is 90 years old but she is very kind.
