Hi, my name is Martha. I've been a caregiver for 10 years and I live in Los Angeles, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I started working with autistic children, and then with senior care. Then I became a CNA, a home health aide. And also because I love helping people and I love caring for them.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, you have to have a passion for what you do, of how you help others, in order to do a good job, to provide a very exceptional care for the elderly, children, or whoever you're taking care of.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is this lady that I took care of for like three years. I got so attached to her. She was very loving and caring. She was the most beautiful human being. I could never forget. I will always remember her. She used to tell me those stories about her past life and it was just amazing. She was just a person that I could talk to, and I felt very comfortable working with her. I miss her. It was unbelievable.
