Hi, my name is Max Duffy, I live in San Jose and I have been a caregiver for three years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I've always loved taking care of people and bringing that kind of nursing quality of healthcare to people's homes. It originally started when my grandmother got sick and I was there to take care of her and from then it's been something that has blossomed inside me.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to always have patience and understanding with your patients. A lot of people gets frustrated and don't know how to handle certian situations, but just know that you're there to make a difference and don't be scared to ask questions or be that friendly person that they need.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I would never forget would have to be my grandmother, just because it was such a warm and loving experience that we shared and it was a great learning opportunity for me. And it's really what got me started in this field and wanting to give people a better opportunity at health care for people who are struggling and need some assistance
