My name is Michelle. I live in West Hollywood, CA. I took care of my grandma and my father for more than ten years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because it is something that I enjoy doing taking care of an older person or a loved one. My grandma was also a caregiver here in LA.
What advice would you give to a new caregiver?
My advice to new caregiver is to love your job and treat the person you are taking care of as your own relative or blood and enjoy what you're doing because if you enjoy what you're doing, then you won't feel tired at all, and then you take care of your patient or your client, then that would also give you joy and pride that you are doing something for other people not only because of the money or the compensation you're getting.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
I have never worked as a caregiver, but I have more than ten years experience taking care of my grandma and my father, so I always remember their face whenever I try to feed them or help them walk and massage their feet or even brush their teeth whenever their sick so it gives me pride and contentedness and joy whenever they express their appreciation of what I do for them, so I think that if I will be hired, I will give the same love and care to my boss or patient or a client.
