Hi, I'm Nannette. I live in Los Angeles, CA and I've been a caregiver for four years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver when my sister got sick and my father got sick also. Since then I enjoyed taking care of people who are sick, especially those elder people with Alzheimer's and dementia, Parkinson's, patients with respiratory problems. Also people under hospice.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver are, they should know what they're doing, and they should be patient in everything that they do. Plus we should understand also the feeling of the patients we are taking care of.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is named Katherine who treated me like a member of her family, listened to suggestions that will make her better.
