Hi, my name's Nickie and I've got nine plus years of experience, and I live in Madera, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because it takes a special person to actually care for people and do the right job. It's not about the money. It's about patient care and quality of care also.
What advice would you give to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, have a lot of patience, give good-quality care, and if it don't work the first time, try a different way. It only takes two or three different tries when patients don't want to do something or a smile always helps.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a person I took care of. She was a cancer patient, terminally ill, and I [?] learn to make [?] because it was part of her diet and also to take her shopping and get her nails done, and it was more like a friendship than a client, and it was the best experience I could have ever had.
