Hi, my name is Nisha. I live in Grand Prairie, TX. And I have 22 years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I took care of my grandparents, my grandmother and my grandfather, by myself. And I loved it. At first, I was not sure if that was the thing for me to do even though I loved them. But I wasn't for sure that I would be the one to absolutely take care of them by myself.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver coming into this field would be to always be yourself. Be true to yourself. If you're true to yourself and you really love what you do, money doesn't mean anything. If you really love what you do, you cannot put a price on that.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is this older lady. She has her own way of doing things. It is her way all the time. You must do it the way she tells you to do. It's no way of getting around it. Even though in your head you can probably do what she wants you to do but in a different way. But she always wants you to do it the way she told you to do it. I mean, no other way. I mean, it's her way or no way.
