Hello, my name is Omopelumi. I live in Dallas, TX. I have seven years experience as a nursing assistant and that would be a good fit for this job.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I have the sympathy to help people, people that struggle in life, I want to help them survive. I want to help them manage life. I want to help them to be happy. That was the reason why I became a caregiver. When I was in my country, I saw people unhappy. And that is the reason why I became a nursing assistant, to be able to help people who struggle in life.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to be helpful, to be sympathetic. Most of the elderly don't have much strength like we do. My advice is to focus, to be sympathetic, to be able to help others who struggle in life.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget, her name is Miss Nancy and she is so sweet. I still work with her once in a while. She is the best person so far. Everytime I do things for her, she's always friendly. She always look after me, like I was her daughter. And I look after her like she was my mother. She is a big part of my strength. And sometimes, when I'm not at work and I'm home, and I think of her, it makes me smile, because I never want to leave her forever. She is one of the best clients I will never forget.
