Can you tell me a little about yourself and how you got into caregiving?
My grandfather inspired me to become a caregiver. I helped him while he was in intensive care.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
What is your proudest moment as a caregiver?
Jose was my most memorable client. he was my very first client and I would help him with everything. We even watched movies together! I didn't feel like I was helping a client, but more like a friend. I also had a great relationship with his wife.
What piece of advice would you give to a new caregiver?
I worked in the past for a patient who had Demetia. Sometimes he would become aggressive, and sometimes woould become very frustrated, I would just talk to im, reassure him I was there to help, and they he would listen to me, and calm down.
My advice for a new caregiver would be, to be very patinet, supportive and reliable. You have to be able to fullfill 100% of their needs. What was your proudest moment as a caregiver?
The moments that make me the proudest is when my clients tell me they love med, and I can see their family is happy. I love developing great connections with the person I am working with and their family.
