Hi, my name is Quinnesha. I live in Las Vegas, NV and I have five years of caregiving experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I used to take care of my stepdad's mother until she passed away. That got me in the caregiving business. I started taking care of other patients after that. I went into CNA, and after CNA, I'm now PCA in Las Vegas, Personal Care Assistant. And I'm just looking to get more experience and to further my education.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to have as much patience as you can and to remember that every patient is different and they will need to be treated different, and just to stay strong and remember what you're doing it for and not just for the money.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget is the client that I just recently had. He was a 92 year old man and he was still full of life. He was still moving around. He tried his best to do everything by himself and that's just awesome to me. And he told me a lot of stories when he was in the war. And he was just always very positive and he was just a really happy guy.
