Hello. This is Rachel Null. I live in Midland, TX and I have been a caregiver for about 6 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my great aunt had Alzheimer's and my mother became an RN nurse. And it just ran into this family. And I love taking care of people. It's part of my personality and it's who I am.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to give to a new caregiver would be patience. Have lots of patience because you are going to get frustrated on this job. It is not for everybody. But it's a very rewarding job. So have patience.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I would never forget would be Jane. And it's because we spend so much time together and we do a lot of activities. And she taught me valuable lessons in life. And we just had the best connection. And you'll have that once you spend most of your time and you dedicate your job. And it will be rewarding at the very end.
