Hi, my name is Raymond. I live in Panorama City, CA. I've been a caregiver for two years and a nurse for five years in the Philippines.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I studied nursing in the Philippines. I graduated back in 2011 and one of the reason I became a caregiver was because my grandparents raised me and when they got older I took care of them and now that my grandfather is gone and I am here in America right now, I want to work with the elderly and thats what I want to do. I've done that to my family member, to my grandpa and grandma and I want to do that here now.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is simple it is to love their patients that would go a long way. Just to love them genuinely like their own family.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client that I will never forget is Berny he is my client right now I've work for him every friday night until monday night. I will never forget him because he is my first client ever since I started working as a caregiver here in America. He has a very nice family. He has alzheimer's but he is a nice person. He's my companion, I'm his companion like everyday. We do everything together, we go grocery shopping and we go to doctor's appointment. I will never forget him.
