Hi, my name is Rhanie. I live in Los Angeles, CA and I have four years experience as registered nurse in the Philippines and three years experience as a caregiver in the United States.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I have a bachelor's degree in nursing, and I'm working in the healthcare industry since I graduated way back 2007. I used to take care of geriatric clients, HIV clients, and other cases.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to be passionate on what they're doing and to give the best of care that they can.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is an 84 year old male. He's under hospice and I took care of him like four months. Supposed to be I would just take care of him for like two weeks because of his condition, but fortunately, it became four months. I cannot forget him because he's a good guy and the family is good. They have good feedback to us and I have a good feeback to them. They respect caregivers and we as well, as caregivers, respect them. They treated us as a part of their family.
