Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got into caregiving?
My name is Rodnesha and I live in San Francisco. I've been a caregiver for a year and a half. Since I was a teen, I always wanted to be a caregiver so when I turned 16 I decided to go to the certified nursing assistant program. I finished it, graduated, and it was like a dream come true. And now I'm a certified nursing assistant.
What do you believe makes you a good caregiver?
People tell me I'm a good caregiver because I truly care, and I do the things I said I was going to do. For instance, my granny had a stroke so I would want to treat you as you're my granny, grandpa, or uncle, niece, whoever. I'm going to do it and I have a passion for helping people in need.
Who was your most memorable client and why?
One of the clients I was working with was an older woman, and she had cancer, and she needed full assistance. I worked with her for a year until she passed away. She loved me. I loved her and loved working for her. I did everything that I could to my full ability to help her.
