I'm Senait. I live in Gilroy, CA. I have eight years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I've been caring my mom for a long time I care Miss Nellie for a long time too. So I love the job. I love to care people. Thank you.
What advice would you give to a new caregiver?
I advise, be patient with the people because when elderly people, their system is going change and going change and down. So we have to care, and we have to understanding, and we have to give them-- be nice to them. And when you work, work from your heart, nicely, patiently, respect what they need. Remind them if their dementia is-- we have to understand they're forgetting stuff. So we have to understand to remind them medication, remind them to eat, to drink. And we have to take care of them, to talk with them emotionally. And everything is getting changed, so we have to understand what's going on with the body change. So we have to be patient, and nice, and respect.
Who is one of your most memorale clients?
Miss Nellie, it was very nice. We talk, we share our life all the time, we go to lunch all the time. She has advised me, she teach me what she was like when she was young, and she's very nice. I love Miss Nellie. When I go to her house, I'm going to be like a friend, not just a client, like my advisor. And her heart is so beautiful. A beautiful mind is special. She's a very clever woman, so I enjoy it with her all my life work with her.
