Hi, my name is Shamica, and I live in Baytown, TX. And I have three months of experience as a CNA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I was inspired by my mom. She's a caregiver/CNA for years. And she loves helping people, and I love helping people, too.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to respect your resident, and make sure that they are well taken care of, and respect your employees as well. Caregiving can go a long way, and it could be a rewarding skill working as CNA.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget was a client who suffered from dementia, but she was the sweetest client. And she always appreciated me taking care of her. And that made me felt like a better employee to know that I'm appreciated by my resident.
