Hi, my name is Sharon. I live in San Bruno, California, and I have six years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver, because I used to take care of my grandfather when I was younger, and I really loved him a lot. After he was gone I looked around and enjoyed caring for seniors. I also like working with children and caring for children.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new care giver would be to truly love what you do and have patience, and be honest, and take time, and just enjoy what you're doing. That's the most important thing for care giving.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget, her name is Gloria. Gloria was a very creative artist and a very intelligent woman who lived in San Francisco. She shared her wonderful stories about growing up in San Francisco and all her childhood memories. Slowly she forgot her family and her story, but I will never forget them, and I will always treasure her artwork that she gave me. She was a very funny person, very happy person.
