Hi, this is Simrpriet. I have an experience of 5 and a half years. I live in San Bruno, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I become a caregiver because I grew up in a orphan house where we have a small hospital where I did volunteer from since I was five year old. And I'm really, really attached to people who need some help.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to new caregiver would be to please understand the the patient whom you are caring for and don't take it personally if they are saying anything mean. It is not them. It is their sickness. So please do your care with love and with sympathy, understanding their pain. They are special. They are in pain or they are suffering from some pain. We are normal persons, so we have to act with care.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I can never forgot is when I was crying and the client was in hospital. He was having a last breath as soon as I step on the door, he says, "Oh, my sunshine is here. Now I can go." And within five minutes he was gone. I cannot forgot that moment.
