Hi, my name is Stephanie. I'm from Miami, FL and I have 3 years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because nursing is something I loved doing since I was a little girl. My mom became a nurse, and now that I have a daughter, I would like to continue that nursing that way she can look up to me and see that Mommy is doing right.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver would be, be comfortable, be honest, be respectful, and always have a good personality where when you walk in the room even the patient will be happy to see you.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a little girl that was about 11 years old that was paralyzed from the waist down and was also on feeding tube. But she didn't have recognition of who was around her. But for some reason, every time I come, she always smiling at me, she always excited to see me, and she always stares at me with this glow in her eyes. And I always try to do my best to make sure by the end of the day when I leave, I make sure I did everything I was supposed to do and make sure she's happy and being well taken care of before I leave.
