Hi, my name is Tarent. I've been a caregiver for 11 years and I live in Havana, FL.
How did you get into caregiving?
I've been a caregiver for 11 years. I enjoy helping people. I enjoy changing lives. I also enjoy making a difference in other lives as well, and also embarking on new opportunities and getting to learn new people, their experience, what they go through, and see if I can do my best by helping them in any way possible during their time of need. I enjoy work. I have passion for it and it's a great environment to be in.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, number one, to be observant with the patient. Number two, also listen and have compassion and respect for the patient because, believe it or not, if you take time out to listen to the patient, listen to their needs, and be more observant and informant of the patient, you will learn a lot about the patient and their needs, their necessary needs.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget his name is Jeffrey. Jeffrey is a very motivated client, at one time he became temporary paralyzed. And I've worked with him day in and day out on helping him to successfully walk and to continue to stretch his muscles.
