Hi, my name is Tasha. I live in Fort Worth, TX. I've been a certified CNA for 16 years and I've been a caregiver for three years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my mom was getting ill and I quit my job to take care of her. During the process, I went to school to be certified as a CNA and I've been doing it ever since and I love it.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to make sure that you communicate with the patient. Make sure that you ask what do they like, what they don't like. How do they like this and how do they like that.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget is Miss Francis, and she is loving, she is kind, she is warm hearted, she's funny, she always makes you laugh, gives you good advice. She always tells you to stay positive and she became one of my best friends.
