Hi, my name is Taylor. And the city I live in is Tallahassee, FL. And I have 10 years of caregiving experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because not only I was a nanny for over 10 years, I have experience with younger children, and also the elderly. Because we need help when we're that young and in between ages. And also with the elderly, they need companionship.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to always have patience. Be reliable. Be very caring. Patient is definitely number one. You have to be extremely careful. Ask them questions. Be there always, right next to them because old people are very fragile.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Ellen. She became one of my bestfriends as old as she was. We just bonded and had a very good friendship and companionship. And a sense of caring, not just me for her, but her for me. We love playing cards. And I love entertaining her by reading to her also. I like cooking for her, her favorite meal. And making sure she got her medicine. I like taking her to the grocery store. And the best smile she would get when she would get a new haircut.
