Hi, my name is Tilayra. I have been a caregiver for two years and I stay in Lithonia, GA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I'm passionate about others, I love helping. I seek to understand from one individual or however many people I can build with. I became a caregiver because I am loving, I want to help out the best way I can. I'm very honest, I'm very trustworthy. And I became a caregiver because I know that there are some people out there that can't do anything on their own. So I would love to be able to help at anyway as possible.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, that you have someone here that will love you and take care of you in the best way you need them to. You have somebody that's there even if you doesn't have a mother or a father or a friend, you will always have a friend that will love you, they will care for you, and to become your friend in the best way as possible.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Liz. She had Prater-Willi Syndrome, and the most thing I remember about her is that she's loving, she's understanding, she just really wants somebody to be there for her. We played games together. She knows how to knit so she knit me something that she made, a scarf I think, I can't remember. That's something I remember about her, that she's very good with her hand, she's very crafty, and she just wanted somebody to be there to watch her. She loved to talk, so you always have someone to talk to because she could talk about anything. So that is something that I really remember her by.
