Hi, my name is Tran and I live in the city of Vista, CA. I have about seven years of experience in caregiving.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I like to help people, I like to see them progress, help them achieve their personal goals and just to see them achieve little things is inspiring. I just love to motivate them to do better, do their best and push them to do their best because anyone can achieve anything.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver would be to always be patient, everything takes time, to be understanding, got to be loving because you treat your clientele as if they are family because you are caring for someone's family member. If you ever need help or if you're ever in question about something, you need to go to your supervisor.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a guy named Anthony. He actually just recently passed away a couple years ago and it's very sad because it really hurt when he was gone. When I was caregiving for him he was a difficult client. He was very hard to work with but I earned his trust. He trusted me when his sight starts deteriorating and he would make it very difficult to transition him from point A to point B but it took patience, understanding and explaining to him that he just needs to trust me. I was his caregiver for four and a half, close to five years before he passed away.
