Hi, my name is Tyhesha. I live in Marysville, CA and I have been a care provider for sixteen plus years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because medical is in my family. My dad passed of cancer and I helped care for him and my mother was a medical assistant. I went to medical school and I just enjoy helping people.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to new caregivers is to learn to be considerate of all clients and clients' family members, to learn to control your emotions, ask for help when needed and not to be quiet, to speak up if you see something, if you have a question, speak up, sometimes you do need help as a care provider.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The most memorable time I have is taking this person out and seeing the smile on her face to be able to go in and shop for herself with some assistance, stay out on an outing, have lunch and go home with a smile on her face.
