Hi, my name is Victoria. I am in the Burbank, Sun Valley area and I have been in the caregiver business for five years plus.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I have an inner desire to be an assistant in helping people have a better and more productive and healthier life.
What advice would you give a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to, number one, to have patience. And number two, the second answer, is to have compassion and take the patience and compassion and intertwine them with a lot of love and laughter.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget was one that I had that had extreme PTSD, basically that anxiety condition brought on by a medical condition. And he would call me, as his anxiety wouldn't let him drive home at all, and it was a very heart-wrenching story. So while I talked him down out of the anxiety attack, I had him wait where he was until I could come, pick him up and take him home. And the bonding that had occurred between us and the trust that he had in me will always be very heartwarming and endearing to me.
