Hi, my name's Victoria. I live in Los Angeles, CA and I have been caregiving for almost 30 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I have a disabled sister. I started volunteering at about 10 years old. Also, my grandma was diagnosed with stage three cancer and I care for her also.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to be patient, communicate and allow them to learn instead of doing it for them.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Laurie. She was just fun to be around. She loved to learn, loved to cook and loved to go on outings. She had these horrific stories and she just made you smile every time you seen her.
