Hi, my name is Vivian, I live in Hawthorne, CA and I have over 12 years experience as a professional caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because of my mom, who was a stroke patient and I took care of her for seven years. And I just love and enjoy taking care of seniors and my mom was a very good experience for me. And I have experience with Alzheimer's, cancer patients, hospice patients, dementia and Parkinson's disease, multiple personalities and all of the above.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to new caregivers is to be patient, work safely, do what the client asks you to do in a professional manner, make sure they're staying comfortable in their world, being of setting and just do your job professionally and make sure the client is comfortable and safe in their environment at all times. And be courteous to the client at all times.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Doctor Stewart, he was very humorous. He had a good, tough attitude, very spunky, and we just got along just great. He was really a great client to work for and I miss him.
