Hi, my name is Olga. I live in Fresno, CA and I've been a nursing assistant for about 15 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver after I had to take care of my grandmother when she was very sick and then after that, they were offering a nursing assistant class and I took it and I was very passionate about it. Now, I'm going to school so I can become a registered nurse and continue advancing my education and my career in this field.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, only pursue this career if you're passionate about it. If you're passionate about helping people and it's something that you can see yourself doing because you want to help someone and not because you're trying to make money out of this career or any career in the nursing field.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client that I'll never forget is Elaine. She was an amazing lady and I was with her for seven years. We laughed, went on dates, we talked about everything and we became best friends. She was a very amazing lady and I still miss her.
