Hi, my name is Yvette and I live in Fresno, CA and I have 18 years experience as a CNA/caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because it was something that I always wanted to do as a little girl, and I feel it is my God given gift to give back to someone as God has given me this gift.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, you have to be a caring, loving person that loves to care for people, and also be honest, considerate, caring, understanding and willing to help in any way that you possibly can. This would be a gift that comes from the heart and that is my advice.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget her name is Fluffy. She was kind of unusual. I won't go very much into it, but to know that I was the one that made a difference in helping her, to get the care she needed, that meant a lot to me. And to see that her family was very pleased, that they appreciated me, and I was glad that they appreciated me, so, therefore, Fluffy is one of my clients I will never forget.
