How Do I Get Started?
The first step is to initiate a matching request. You can do this on our website, but we encourage you to give us a call, since this allows our Care Advisors to take into account your loved one’s individual care needs and match them with the best possible candidates.
How Soon Can Kindly Care Connect Us with a Caregiver?
It generally only takes a few minutes before the first batch of candidates confirm their interest and availability. So, in urgent cases, you can be looking at videos of potential candidates as soon as you get off the phone with us. However, in order to be able to consider all potential candidates, we recommend that you wait an hour or two before finalizing who to interview.
The majority of interviews are scheduled for the next day, although our system does allow you to meet people the same day (or as soon as physically possible), and you’re also able to schedule your interviews for up to 7 days in advance.
How Soon Can Kindly Care Fill-in for a No-Show or Other Emergency?
We ask all our clients to designate a number of candidates as their backup caregivers, which enables them to auto-fill their emergency shifts. In rare cases when the auto-fill process is disabled (either because the family didn’t finalize the selection of backup caregivers, or because all backup caregivers are unavailable for the needed shift times), we reinitiate the standard matching process which often produces new candidates within minutes.
Do You Guarantee that You Can Always Fill-in for an Emergency?
We cannot make such open-ended guarantees, since ultimately our clients make the final selection of who they want to work with. However, rest assured that we understand the criticality of emergencies, and that we’ll be sending you as many candidate suggestions as it takes to ensure rapid and successful matching.
How Is the Caregiver Paid?
We handle payments to your caregiver much like the way employees are paid in the corporate world. Your caregiver would be paid weekly by ACH bank-to-bank transfers.
Your caregivers use a mobile app (or alternatively an SMS-based system) to report their work hours, and Kindly Care calculates the gross wages, payroll taxes, and our commission on a weekly basis. We email you the upcoming payroll draft at the end of the weekly payroll period, and unless you contest the work hours, Kindly Care initiates a bank-to-bank transfer 72 hours later.
What About Tax-Related Issues?
We have developed a number of services and products that are included in our flat fee of 15% for live-in care, and 20% for live-out caregivers. These services deliver a complete level of convenience for our clients, including taking care of all tax and compliance-related issues.
What Would Be My Legal Ties to Kindly Care?
We don’t enter into time-related contracts with our clients, meaning that you can quit any time. In addition, ours are pay-as-you-go services, so you don’t pay us any upfront fees.
How Many Caregivers Can I Interview?
You can interview up to two caregivers at any given time. We set up the interviews to best suit your availability (or that of the care recipient).
Can I Interview My Caregivers Via Phone?
Yes, phone interviews are often made use of by our clients, particularly when their needs are urgent or when they are out-of-town or tied up with their businesses.
Does Kindly Care Come to My Home to Do an Assessment?
Yes, but only when the care recipient’s needs are such that an in-home needs assessment would benefit us in our selection of caregivers for you to interview.
Is Kindly Care a Licensed Home Care Organizations (HCO)?
No, the states of California and Texas do not require sour type of organization to be licensed as a Home Care Organization.
Does working with Kindly Care help me comply with all tax and labor law requirements?
Yes, that is an important part of our mission: to navigate all tax and compliance-related issues on behalf of our clients.
